LED HEADLIGHT UPGRADE - VE COMMODORE
This vehicle had already been running the J.W.Speaker LED Headlight Conversion (RRP$199), but the process to upgrade from halogen is exactly the same. The first photo below shows the previously fitted LED kit performance, which even surprised us with the incredibly low lux level of 288lx. For reference, we installed the STEDI™ Copper Heads on the passenger side, registering 934Lx; which was a dramatic increase in performance whilst still maintaining a sharp cut line.
Below both headlights are fitted with our Copper Head LEDs and you can see the sharpness in the beam that will prevent light scatter to oncoming drivers, as well as reduce glare from road signs.
LED HEADLIGHT UPGRADE - VF COMMODORE
Conversions on a VF Commodore are a little more difficult, as the airbox will need to be removed on the passenger side, and the driver side requires access from under the wheel arch through the inner guard. We have put together a detailed install guide below to run you through this process.
Below is the factory halogen globe fitted in the vehicle from the factory and its projected beam against the wall. The below section will cover the difference in performance, down a bit further will cover all the installation steps.
Here is the gain in performance between the 2 types of the globe. As you can see the Project LEDs are producing close to an extra 500 Lux as well as an extreme upgrade in the volume of light output and smoothness in the beam.
HEADLIGHT INSTALLATION
For the passenger side, you will need to remove the airbox. This is done via 3 fixing points shown in the diagram and disconnecting the main intake hose. This will open up enough space to easily access the back of the headlight housing and install your new LED upgrade.
Things get a little more complex when getting to the driver's side (displayed below). As you can see, you will need to remove half, if not all of the inner guard to get access to the back of the headlight. Don't blame us, blame holden.
For the parker lights upgrade, such an in-depth process is not required. Simply twist and remove the holder which can be easily reached through the access point on the top side of each headlight. Simply remove the old globe and plug the new one straight in.
LED NUMBER PLATE UPGRADE (VX-VF)
This customer previously installed an LED bulb upgrade in the number plate light housing, which they purchased through a reputable auto parts chain. The left side lamp shows the original LED illuminated which is significantly dim as compared to the STEDI upgrade fitted on the right side. The last photo shows both STEDI upgraded LED bulbs and the results show a wild difference over the previous kit.
HIGH OUTPUT 1000 LUMEN LED REVERSE LIGHT
New to our range of LED conversion kits are the 1000 lumen high output globes (available in T10/15, T20, and BA15S). They will suit just about any car on the market. Compared to our other conversion globes they offer a much brighter illumination with a slightly different installation method. A good customer has thrown together a short video briefly describing the installation as well as giving quite a useful comparison between the factory halogen globes.
